Here at Qwick, we’re incredibly proud of our innovative tech, but we’re even prouder of our incredible team. So we’re taking a moment to shine the spotlight on rockstar team members that help make Qwick a Great Place to Work.

Between his dedication to making a product that helps Businesses and Professionals succeed with Qwick and his willingness to go the extra mile for the team both in and out of the office, this talented member of our Engineering team represents everything Qwick stands for. Meet Jeremy Weidner.

What do you do at Qwick, and what’s your favorite part of working here?

I’m a Junior Developer at Qwick and primarily work on the mobile apps, but like other members of the team, I tend to have my hands in pretty much everything. I love working at this company for a ton of reasons, but what sticks out above all is the people. This is a group of hard working, supportive, unique human beings that are a delight to be around each and every day.

Where are you from, and what’s the best thing to eat there?

I’m from Phoenix, AZ (A wild native appears!) and it’s super hard to pick out the best thing. I’m a huge fan of the Mexican food around the Valley (El Encanto, Ajo Al’s, and Cafe Rio are my tops) and on those days I want to ignore some of my dietary restrictions, BoSa Donuts bring me a ridiculous amount of joy.

Who is your hero?

I’m going to give a couple answers here from different perspectives. The person that has made the most impact on my life is my step-dad. He is the reason I am as passionate about technology as I am today and I would not be at Qwick building mobile apps and databases without his nurturing and love as a nerdy teenager. The person who inspires me the most and has had the most influence on how I work would be Steve Jobs. His drive to motivate people to do the impossible, to work hard, to think about the best way to empower others, and his level of care (to “finish the back of the dresser even if it will be tucked against a wall and no one will see it”) is something I really connect with.

What motivates you to work hard?

I feel a certain level of responsibility to leave the world a better place than I found it and make a meaningful contribution to humanity that outlives me. That probably sounds a bit lofty, but it is something that truly drives me to put more care into what I’m doing and to consider spending time on things that are actually impactful. I want to have a legacy of helping others and trying to make the world a little better.

What’s the best gift you’ve been given?

My step-sister gave me a hand-made Appa from Avatar: The Last Airbender one year and it is still one of my favorite things.

What’s your favorite family tradition?

It sounds a little silly, but I look forward to my Grandmother making her famous “green Jello” every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. I don’t even eat it, but the mere presence of it brings me joy and makes the holidays feel like the holidays.
